Andrea V. Morrison currently serves as the Director of Compliance Programs in the Office of Workforce Development with the Louisiana Workforce Commission. As Director of Compliance Programs, Ms. Morrison oversees the administrative functions and operations of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program (TAA), Rapid Response, the Migrant Seasonal Farmworker Program (MSFW) and the Minor Labor Program. Immediately prior to, Ms. Morrison served as the Director of Career Services during which she also oversaw the administrative functions and operations of the statewide Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Ms. Morrison began her career at the Louisiana Workforce Commission in 2011 as an Administrative Law Judge, hearing and adjudicating unemployment insurance appeals. During her tenure as an Administrative Law Judge, she also served as Training Coordinator, training newly hired Administrative Law Judges on hearing procedure and conduct. In addition, she has served as an Administrative Law Judge Manager, and as Lead Judge on a three judge panel hearing and deciding unemployment tax appeals cases.
Ms. Morrison earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University, a J.D. degree from Southern University Law Center and an LL.M in Taxation from University of Alabama Law School. She has previously worked for the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office, the Louisiana Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. She is a licensed attorney, a current member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.
