ELIZABETH OWEN is the Legal Director of the Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center, (GNOFHAC), a nonprofit civil rights organization established in 1995 to eradicate housing discrimination.
Ms. Owen directs GNOFHAC’s fair housing enforcement work, and has represented numerous individuals and organizations in litigation against private and governmental entities engaging in discriminatory housing practices. Ms. Owen attended New York University School of Law, where she was an articles editor for the N.Y.U. Review of Law & Social Change. Prior to her work at GNOFHAC, Ms. Owen was a commercial litigation associate at the law firm of Simpson Thacher and Bartlett, LLP in New York, N.Y., and clerked for Justice Jaynee LaVecchia of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
