Plezetta M. West is an attorney with a passion for social justice. “No man is an island” is her personal philosophy, which has driven her life’s work. Ms. West earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and a Masters in Social Work from Southern University of New Orleans. She is a licensed attorney in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Plezetta currently serves as Counsel at the Louisiana Housing Corporation. In this position, Plezetta assists and advises on compliance and asset management matters, policy development, and contract formation. Prior to the LHC, Plezetta was a civil defense attorney in housing and foreclosure law. She worked to defend tenants in eviction and subsidized housing matters and helped save homeowners’ homes from foreclosure.
When she’s not working for the housing needs of Louisiana, Plezetta enjoys live music, traveling, reading, writing, and game nights. Ms. West is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, but has called Louisiana her home for the past 17 years.
