Victor Smeltz is the Executive Director of Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation, a partnership between Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans and Volunteers of America National Services. Since 2006, he has led the development of over 750 units of mixed-income housing, with total financing of more than $100 million.
Prior to joining Volunteers of America, he served as Development Director of the Housing Authority of Portland, responsible for the development and acquisition of more than 750 mixed-income rental units.
Mr. Smeltz held various positions at the Housing Finance Agency in Oregon, and served as Manager of Housing Finance.
Prior to becoming involved in affordable housing, Mr. Smeltz worked in the design and construction of real estate projects in Oregon and California.
Mr. Smeltz is an honor graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, with a BS Degree in Architecture. He is a registered architect in Oregon and with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
